Giclee printing costs follow a simple equation;
(size of the giclee) x (price of the paper) x (number of giclees printed)
The size of the giclee is measured in square foot i.e 12” by 12” which includes the width of any white border desired. The price of the paper is also per sq.ft and varies by the quality of the paper chosen. For example an 11” x 17” (1.3 sq.ft.) giclee on Moab Entrada 300gsm cotton rag which is charged at $25 per sq ft would be $32.47.
In addition automatic discounts are applied for the quantity of prints made, it's always more cost effective to print more at one go and to encourage larger orders we return these savings to you. So a single print at a small size is charged at the full price. Multiples of the same print and even a single larger print are eligible for a discount of 10% if the combined square footage goes over 10 square feet and 15% if the it goes over 10 square ft. so a 24” x 36” (6 sq.ft.) on the same paper as the first example would be $142.50.
Item quantity refers to either the number of giclees or to the square footage so a single giclee of 6 sq.ft will cost the same as 6 identical prints each 1 sq.ft in size though it applies only to multiples of the same giclee. For discounts on larger quantities ask us for a quote.
